At UMaine’s 4-H Camp at Blueberry Cove on twenty-five acres overlooking Tenants Harbor, campers find the simple, yet profound joys of their grandparents’ youth: hiking to see a full moon rise over the ocean, discovering the joy of exploring the natural world with great friends, and feeling the wind on their faces as they learn to sail. With a 1400-foot beach, sleeping cabins nestled in a mature spruce forest, meadows, tidal flats, gardens, farm animals, boats, and a harbor and islands to explore, who could ask for more? Programs emphasize community living, with campers of all ages experiencing nature and interacting together in a way that engages their whole being. For more than half a century, Blueberry Cove has shaped lives and helped youth build memories that last lifetime.
