About
About YouthCampsBase
YouthCampsBase is a US summer camp directory for families. We index day camps, overnight camps, sports camps, STEM camps, outdoor adventure programs, art camps, water sports, faith-based programs, special-needs camps, and unique specialty camps across all 50 states.
Why we built this. Existing camp directories are paywalled, ad-stuffed, or built for camp operators rather than parents. We wanted a clean, fast site that lists real camps with real locations and real contact details, plus honest signals about what each program actually offers — ages served, season, activity mix, and approximate cost where we have it.
How we collect data. Listings come from public sources: camp websites, state recreation departments, school district summer programs, YMCA networks, scouting councils, and tax-exempt program filings. We never scrape paid content and we don't hotlink to images that aren't ours to use.
How we make money. Camp operators can claim their listing and pay a small fee to upgrade it (featured placement, richer media, direct inquiries). Free listings stay free, forever. We do not sell visitor data and we do not run third-party display ads.
Who runs it. YouthCampsBase is operated by Wilkinson Holdings LLC, a US-based directory publisher. The site is built and maintained by Sean Wilkinson. Reach us at [email protected].
Corrections. If a listing on YouthCampsBase is wrong, missing, or should be removed, email us and we'll fix it. We don't hide behind a ticketing system.
Editorial team
Our guides and camp reviews are written and reviewed by people who have actually worked at, coached at, or sent their own kids to summer camps. Every guide carries a byline.
Maya Okonkwo
Editorial Lead, Day & Specialty Camps
Maya spent eight summers as a counselor and program director at day camps in the Northeast before joining YouthCampsBase as editorial lead. She writes about choosing between day and overnight programs, evaluating staff-to-camper ratios, and what to ask on a camp tour. Mother of two campers (ages 8 and 11).
Daniel Reyes
Senior Editor, Sports & Outdoor Programs
Daniel coached high-school soccer and youth basketball for twelve years and has personally toured more than forty sports-skills camps across California, Texas, and Florida. He covers single-sport vs. multi-sport programs, what serious-athlete tracks actually deliver, and how to read camp pricing honestly. Father of three.
Priya Sundaram
Editor, STEM, Arts & Overnight Programs
Priya is a former middle-school science teacher and STEM-camp curriculum designer. She reviews STEM camps, arts immersives, and traditional overnight camps with a parent's eye for what kids actually take home — skills, friendships, and stories — versus what's marketing. Based in the Midwest.
